Hoyman Minx Hong, M.D.
Dr. Hong is board certified in Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation and is board eliligible in Pain
Management and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Hong is an
Interventional Physiatrist for the San Francisco Spine Center and
Sports Medicine Department at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital. He
earned his medical degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI
and trained in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford
University Hospital, Palo Alto, CA. He performed a fellowship
in interventional spine and sports medicine, at the prestigious
Hospital for Spinal Surgery in New York City. This training
focused on inter-disciplinary approaches to conditions and diseases
that affect the spine and peripheral musculoskeletal system.
Dr. Hong specializes in aggressive diagnostic
and non-surgical, minimally invasive conservative treatment for
conditions and diseases of the spine and peripheral musculoskeletal
system, including flouroscopically guided epidural steriod, facet,
and radiofrequency denervation, intradiscal catherization,
discography, and electrodiagnostic studies.

Dr. Hong has published papers relating to
Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy (IDET) and Intradiscal
Injections. His research interests include the further study
of nonsurgical, minimally invasive treatments for degenerative disc
disease as well as osteoarthritis of the spine and peripheral
joints.
