Clement Jones, M.D.
Dr. Jones is a board certified Orthopedic
Surgeon for the San Francisco Spine Center at Saint Francis
Memorial Hospital and is in Private Practice in San
Francisco. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University
School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts. He performed
residencies in general and spinal surgery at Vanderbuilt
University, Nashville, Tennessee and advanced fellowship training
in spine surgery at Vanderbuilt University and the Kerlan-Jobe
Orthopaedic Clinic, Inglewood, California.
With more than 12 years of experience
performing complex neck and back surgeries, Dr. Jones is recognized
throughout the medical community for safely and effectively
utilizing new techniques and cutting edge technological advances in
surgery. Dr. Jones has the distinction of being the first spine
surgeon in private practice in San Francisco to perform lateral
mass screws for posterior cervical fusions, percutaneous and
endoscopic pedicles for posterior lumbar fusions, video-assisted
thorascopic thoracic fusions and use of "Infuse BMP Collagen
Sponges" as bone graft substitutes to enhance spinal fusion
results. Other "pioneering" procedures include, balloon kyphoplasty
for treatment of vertebral compression fractures due to
osteoporosis or cancer and most recently he was trained and
certified in Artificial Disc Replacement surgery.
Dr. Jones has served as a clinical instructor
for more that 10 years at the San Francisco Orthopedic Residency
Training Program. He has also served as a mentor in the
Health and Medical Apprenticeship Program and as Spinal Surgery
Consultant, Athletic Department at the University of California,
Berkeley.
