Dr. Lewis was an elite marathon runner and ranked California tennis player in years past and still enjoys running, tennis, long distance cycling, skiing, scuba diving and weightlifting, ideally, all in one day. Nowdays her workouts always include chasing her two kids!

She enjoys seeing all kinds of patients, from weekend warriors to top-level elite athletes. She also enjoys teaching and lecturing on sports medicine topics and has a special professional interest in women's sports medicine issues.

Dr. Lewis has been a physician for the the Women's Professional Tennis Tour (WTA) for the past 10 years. Recently, she was named to receive the Irving Glick Award, honored as the best doctor for the WTA tour.

In the past she served as a team physician for the US Olympic Track and Field trials in Sacramento, California. She has served as staff physician for the Honolulu Marathon, and is a Clinical Instructor at both the University of California at Davis and San Francisco.

Dr. Lewis consults on articles for national publications regarding health and fitness. She also speaks nationally and has written book chapters teaching physicians about sports injuries, prevention and recovery. She has also traveled on Operation Rainbow trips, providing orthopaedic care for third world countries.

She is Board Certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American College of Sports Medicine and The Western Orthopaedic Association.
