What is Pilates?

Joseph Pilates developed the Pilates method in the early 1900s. The method is actually a philosophy of movement that emphasizes breathing, centering, balance and concentration, as well as the integration of strength and flexibility. Doing Pilates teaches you how to move from your deep core muscles and find your center while maintaining proper spinal alignment.
