A personalized approach to mental health care...

The Saint Francis Memorial Behavioral Health Partial Day Program is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that provides intensive group psychotherapy and support for individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder schizophrenia and may have co-morbid substance abuse problems as well as grief and loss, trauma and conflict management problems to name a few. PHP is an ideal treatment setting for individuals struggling with a wide array of mental health related issues where structured support, validation and symptom education can have important life altering benefits.

Our team of dedicated, licensed professionals focuses on reducing symptoms, increasing coping skills and improving overall functioning in our client's lives. The program serves as a continuum of care for individuals as a follow-up to a hospitalization or as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization.

A Typical Day:
As a participant in the Behavioral Health Partial Day Program you can expect to arrive between 9:00am - 9:30am. You might then enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and snack whilst mingling with others in our kitchen. The first group begins at 9:30 and consists of a check-in individually about what has been going on in your life since the last visit, how you're feeling and what you'd like help with today. At 10:20 you get a ten-minute refreshment break, as you will have between all groups. At 10:30 you will resume in a process group where feelings are thought about and discussed. Next is the 11:30 group, which most often involves the processing of relationships with others and with yourself. At 12:20 there is a 55-minute break when participants have lunch in the SFMH's cafeteria on us. After lunch there are two groups: at 1:15 the group is typically educationally oriented relating to coping with depression, anxiety, anger, inter-personal conflict, grief/loss, to name a few. Lastly, the 2:15 group is more low key, a time for something fun or relaxing. You are heading home by approximately 3:00 pm.
